To reliably measure the rotation speed of a shaft or a disc in machinery like engines, use this reflective tape from Testo. It's designed for use with non-contact tachometers for measuring speeds at a distance. For accurate readings, simply attach the tape to the surface of the motor and point the tachometer at it so the light remains fixed. Thanks to the self-adhesive underside, it'll stick readily to a wide variety of surfaces. You can also use this tape to mark pipes conveying sensitive substances for a safer work environment.

Unmarked pipes represent a hazard. Marking them with tapes will identify and display their contents. Such identification is covered by BS 1710.
