RS PRO Cat5e Punch-down Wiring Box, 2-port, UTP
Part of the RS PRO series, these punch-down wiring boxes are ideal for connecting Cat5e cables without loss of bandwidth. Cat5e cables are also known as ethernet cables and typically used to connect computers to a network hub, such as a router. For this reason, it's important to maintain the 350 MHz speed of the cables when coupling two Cat5 ends.
The wiring boxes include PCB-mounted punch-down blocks which offer an ultra-tight connection between cables. The components are housed in a 25 mm wide plastic case with strain reliefs that allow cable flexibility. It's easy to follow a wiring sequence with connections clearly marked on the case. Finally, two easily accessible ports allow for a simple, straight-through connection.
These wiring boxes are commonly found in commercial or industrial environments where you need to join Cat5e cables. For example, they can be used if you need to extend the length of an ethernet connection.
