Need a rugged mini USB B socket connector? This RS PRO unit is a robust connector with a metal shell designed for applications that need to be able to withstand dust particles and water.

The shell is made from a copper alloy with nickel plating to ensure it's resistant to wear and corrosion. The product has red silicone O-rings for added protection against water. It's also shielded from electromagnetic interference (EMI) so you can be sure the device will operate with no disruptions. The connector has an ingress protection (IP) rating of IP68, which guarantees it will resist dust, sand and temporary immersion in water.

This product conforms to Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards so includes only minimal amounts of any harmful materials. It's also tested against ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007 standards, so you can rest assured the hazard of electrostatic discharge (ESD) is reduced. You can often see this type of connector used in outdoor LED displays as well as in medical, industrial and military equipment.
