PING))) ultrasonic range sensor kit

The PING))) ultrasonic sensor is perfect for applications that require you to perform distance measurements between moving or stationary objects. The sensor measures distance using sonar: an ultrasonic (well above human hearing) pulse is transmitted from the unit and distance-to-target is determined by measuring the time required for the echo return. Output from the PING))) sensor is a variable-width pulse that corresponds to the distance to the target. When coupled with the servomotor in this kit, the PING))) sensor can make a 180° scan of its environment and an obstacle map created. Together they're great for autonomous navigation.

Servo motor can sweep the sensor through 180°
Ideal for mobile robot navigation
PING))) provides precise, non-contact distance measurement within a 2cm to 3m range
Simple pulse in/pulse out communication on single GPIO pin
Burst indicator LED shows measurement in progress

Note

PING))) is ideal for use with Raspberry Pi and Arduino based robot projects.

Supplied with

Standard servo motor, servo cable and mounting hardware.

Parallax offer an extensive range of sensor, communication and interface modules for the experimenter working on robotic systems.
