When you need to connect and adapt different USB types though a standard XLR format chassis, this feed-through USB connector from the RS PRO range will help build a sturdy panel mount connection.

The connector can be mounted from front or back and has a low rear profile to save space. A straight body orientation makes for easy installation. The nickel-plated steel shell stands up to corrosion, while gold-plated contacts ensure accurate data transmission, with maximum contact resistance of 50 mΩ. It's voltage-rated at 30 V ac and current-rated at 1.5 A. It will operate within a temperature range of -20˚C to 50˚C and is dielectric withstanding voltage tested to 500 V ac.

As this connector has been stringently tested against international standards, you can be sure it won't damage equipment via electrostatic discharge (ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007). It's also compliant with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) standards. You'll find USB connectors of this type commonly used for wall plugs and network rack mounting and in settings such as recording studios.
