Got a shaft that's difficult to align with its housing, or that's liable to bend during operation? How do I mount a self-aligning bearing with a tapered bore?


Screw up the lock nut to the end of the indicated range. Remove the lock nut, then place the washer by securing the nut back on the sleeve. Bend one of the lock washer tabs into a matching slot on the nut.
