Potentiometer Joystick, Open Body

The 4000 series is a robust, industrial class potentiometer joystick. They have an all metal construction giving a long service life and a high level of performance. They have some advantages over contactless joysticks such as ease of interfacing, wider operating voltages, lower current drain and immunity to RFI.

Product Application Information

These joysticks are panel sealed to IP65 and thanks to their robust design they are ideally suited for heavy duty use within a wide range of temperatures and loads. Applications could include wheelchairs, factory automation and remote operated vehicles.

This unit features an open style body and offers dual axis control. Known as the X and Y axis it allows movement to North, South, East and West directions. It has a conical handle which is sprung to centre giving you complete confidence and control no matter what the application.

Potentiometers

This joystick is fitted with plastic film potentiometers which have 340° tracks. The shaft deflection angle is a nominal 55°. A typical 12 V supply results in a full scale nominal deflection from 5 V to 7 V, operating around a nominal 6 V centre.
