The cable is shielded with mesh to protect it from electromagnetic interference and is sheathed in flame-retardant PVC for durability. The connector hoods are fitted with integral strain relief ridging to prevent the jacket splitting around the boot and house corrosion-resistant gold-flashed contacts.
