RS PRO Surface ESD Tester
Used to measure point-to-point (Rp-p) and surface to ground (Rg) resistance, this analogue surface resistance test kit from RS PRO is designed for Electrostatic Discharge Protected Areas (EPAs). EPAs protect sensitive electronic components and circuitry from electrostatic discharge and are commonly mandated in all kinds of electrical settings, from simple repair benches to entire factories.
Equipped with an automatic test voltage selector, the test voltage will switch from 10 V to 100 V if the measured resistance exceeds 10 ohms. Weighing just 200 grams, the tester is powered by a 9 V alkaline battery for portability. An LED indicator illuminates when the battery power is low.
This test kit is ideal for use in automatic test range voltage selection compliance verification as required by EN 61340-5-1, which is the accepted ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection standard for IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) member countries.
