Door stops are simply objects that are commonly used to hold a door open. You place them on the floor and they provide a practical and cheap solution to prevent both walls and doors from being damaged as it acts as a buffer, saving you from any repair work.

Depending on the style of door stop, it can work in different ways. To prevent doors from opening too far and damaging nearby walls, a rubber dome or a block of rubber-tipped metal is attached to the wall or the floor in the path of the door.
