What is the advantage of a chamfered / bevel wire cutter?

Bevel cutting wire cutters tend to have sturdier blades, and so are more durable and have a longer tool life. However, unlike flush-cutters, they tend to leave a 'spike' or angle in the cut wire which may be undesirable when working with more delicate components.
