To give your pick-and-place equipment a light touch, use this proximity sensor from Turck. Its inductive sensing technology means it quickly spots the presence of most ferrous metals, reliably detecting aluminium, brass, copper and iron objects. As no physical contact is needed, there's little risk of damage to sensitive components. This also gives the device an extended lifespan with a mean time to failure of 874 years, as there's minimal wear and tear. A handy yellow LED conveniently lets you know the module's switching state. You can put it to the test in harsh environments as it withstands vibration and shock.
