RS PRO Black Nylon Rod, 1m x 40mm Diameter

This black nylon rod is durable and hard-wearing for heavy-duty industrial applications. It measures 1 metre in length and has a diameter of 40 mm.

Made from extruded nylon 6 and containing molybdenum disulfide, this rod is highly impact-resistant and abrasion-resistant. It can withstand harsh conditions such as exposure to UV light and chemicals, and it's suitable for use at temperatures of up to +160°C. It has a tensile strength of 75 MPa and can be easily welded, bonded, machined and polished.

Part of the RS PRO series, this product is tested for quality and safety. It has a flammability rating of UL 94 HB from Underwriters Laboratories, so it's self-extinguishing. It also meets the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) standard DIN 50 014 for corrosion resistance.

You'll commonly find this nylon rod used in industrial applications involving pulleys, castors, gears and bearings.
