The Microchip PIC24FJxxxGA/GB406/410/412 family of Microcontrollers are peripheral rich 16-bit devices suitable for applications that require secure data transfer and storage. Highlights include an on-board Cryptographic Engine, eXtreme Low Power (XLP) features, an LCD Display Controller and USB On-The-Go.

Of particular note is the Dual Partition Flash with Live Update Capability, this allows the MCU to hold two independent software applications (including boot loader). Furthermore this functionality allows the simultaneous programming of one partition while executing application code from the other.
