Introducing a new range of ATEX IECex empty U Version uncertified component junction boxes from CE-TEK. All the boxes in the range are supplied pre-machined with threaded M20/ M25 cable gland entry apertures (each fitted with EX rated blanking plugs) and come complete with a punched internal earth continuity plate, and an internal /external earth stud. These empty Junction Boxes incorporate internal fixing locations for either the installation of a mounting plate or a length of DIN Rail and are designed to be subsequently integrated with suitable EX certified components or EX certified DIN rail mounted Terminal blocks.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ATEX IECex empty U Version uncertified component covering this range carries the suffix “U” which indicates that these particular Empty enclosure products have been assessed for use as a “Component” and therefore must only form part of a Hazardous Area equipment “Assembly” or protective “System” which in turn will be subject to further assessment (own or 3rd party certification) in its own right.

NB; This partial “Component” certification may be used as the basis for subsequent certification of an equipment assembly or protective system.

More generally, Junctions Boxes are primarily used in building construction* and are designed to provide protection to wiring circuits and electrical connections for easy access. Boxes are usually made from metal or heavy-duty plastic and in most situations can be used both indoor and outdoor due to their water and impact resistance. * but also, as part of the electrical wiring of plant, machinery, equipment or vehicles intended to be used in Hazardous Areas
