D Sub Connector Accessories

D-Sub connector accessories are components used in conjunction with D-Sub connectors. D-Sub connector accessories enable the support of the performance of the connector by preventing mechanical stress, provide EMI/RFI shielding and protection from the elements. What are the different types of D-Sub accessories?

RS extensive range of D-Subminiature accessories to suit every eventuality. D-Sub connectors accessories are used in industrial, commercial and domestic applications and environments. Some of the most common are

Screwlock Assemblies for use with D-subminiature hoods and backshells. The assemblies consist of a threaded screw, several nuts and washers. When fixed together they provide a secure locking mechanism. Typical thread type is UNC 4-40.
Dust caps and Covers for the protection of the connector when not in use. Dust caps and covers aim to prevent the ingress of moisture, dust and small particles. Dust caps can make the connector waterproof to IP65, IP66 or IP67 rated ideal for harsher environments.
Cable clamps and strain reliefs offer additional support of the connecting cable entry when used in a cable assembly or mounted in a panel. Cables are often subject to flexing and straining which, if left unsupported can damage the internal wires or conductors.
Mounting Kits enable you to mount your DSUB connectors in panels and electrical enclosures. The kits consist of panel mounting frames and their fasteners and fixings. They ensure connectors are fixed safely and securely.
