This power cord is fully equipped with South African 3 pin mains plug on one end and an IEC C13 type connector on the other that connects to the appliance. Power cable assemblies are electrical cables that are pre-terminated with a plug or socket connector. Power cable assemblies can be terminated with connectors on both ends of the cable, or just one. Depending on the application, there are various types to suit a wide range of requirements.

This power cord is terminated with a fully moulded IEC C13 plug which is used to connect the power cord to an appliance which has an IEC C14 inlet. The IEC C13 connector has 3 pins, a rated current of 10 A and a maximum temperature rating of 70°C, and is sometimes referred to as an IEC ’cold connectors’. IEC connectors conform to IEC-60320 specifications laid down by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) to ensure the connectors meet common global design standards
