The Siemens Ultrasonic heat and cooling energy meters are designed to measure flow and energy in hydronic heating circuits. Available as heat, cooling energy, or combined heat/cooling energy meters, they are non-wearing due to their lack of moving parts. The meter consists of an electronic unit, a flow measuring section, and two temperature sensors, with the processor capable of supporting up to four long-term batteries for up to 20 years of operation. Using an ultrasonic measuring principle, the meter accurately detects flow without any moving components. The energy transferred from the medium to the consumer is proportional to the temperature difference between the warmer and cooler sides, as well as the volume of water that has passed through.
