3M™ Cubitron™ II Cut-Off disc contains 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain are engineered to The cut-off discs surpass other discs in both performance and longevity, yielding 2 times more cuts than conventional cut off discs.

Outstanding Cutting Performance

These wheels contain 3M Precision Shaped Grain which forms into triangular points that slice through metal rather than gouging like traditional abrasives. These points continuously self sharpen as they fracture, generating an extremely fast cut. This reduces the heat build-up due to friction, decreasing heat-related stress cracks and discolouration.
Using the 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cut Off disc provides an extra sharp, quick cut that lasts much longer than other discs. Our cut off wheels is typically used for cutting through metals, such as stainless steel tubing, exhaust pipes, clamps and rusted fasteners.

Cut off wheels are attached to a cut off wheel tool (sold separately) and must always be used with a wheel guard for safety.

FAQ's

Is there a difference between cutting and grinding discs?

Yes, the thickness of the discs are different, with cutting discs being thinner than grinding discs. Cuttings generally don't have adequate lateral strength for side grinding.

Can you use metal cutting discs on masonry applications?

No, masonry applications would need a separate disc. Metals cutting discs are usually made from aluminium oxide particles, while masonry cutting discs are made from silicon carbide.
