Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440N-S32017 Sipha Magnetic Non-Contact Safety Switch


The 440N-S32017 Sipha Magnetic Safety Interlock Switch offers secure contact-free machine guard locking to improve protection for equipment and personnel and keep your machine processes running efficiently.

The versatile Sipha safety switches feature magnetically sensitive elements which must be activated in a specific order to operate correctly. This gives them a high level of tamper-resistance as they cannot be defeated by a simple magnet, providing greater reliability and security for complex applications. These cost-effective switches ensure performance equal or superior to that offered by mechanical locking units for your safety system.

The 440N-S32017 Sipha Magnetic Safety Switch has 1NC/1NO safety contacts, a 10m cable and an S2 enclosure made of durable ABS plastic. The switching distance is 9mm (make), 12mm (break). It is dust-proof and water-tight, with a high IP67 rating (NEMA 6P). This makes it ideally suited for use in wash-down environments. The switch can be used with hinged, sliding, and lift-off machine guards.

The Sipha sensor must be connected to the control unit to give a monitored circuit. The control unit can be used with a single sensor to provide a high-integrity system for high risk applications. It has facilities for connecting a manual reset button and monitoring external devices such as contactors.
