Scotch-Brite™ Roloc™ Coating Removal Disc CR-DR
The Scotch-Brite™ coating removal disc is a surface conditioning disc that combines a long lasting abrasive and the Roloc™ quick change out system. The non-woven disc uses silicon carbide mineral abrasive offering a continuous fast cutting action and consistency. The fibres use a resin which will dissolve and break down over time, allowing them to stay strong and heat resistant. Suitable for removing paint and rust from seams, doors, moulding, welds and other tight areas.
The unique construction of the Scotch-Brite™ disc is made up of non-woven fibres and silicon carbide abrasive making it tough and durable. The extra course (XCS) works to remove unwanted corrosion and blemishes from a variety of materials. It combines strands, resin and abrasive to form a thick open web.
The Scotch Brite™ surface conditioning disc allows for easy adaptation to a profiled surface. It has been designed to last longer than wire brushes and other abrasive discs. The abrasive standards continually break down which reveal fresh abrasive for consistency and superior cut performance.
Features and Benefits
Removes paint, rust and quickly compared to wire brushes
Load resistant material resists clogging for consistent cutting action
Smear resistant to minimise cleaning of the work surface
Extra coarse (XCS) grade silicon carbide provides aggressive cutting and leaves a fine finish without gouging the workpiece
Roloc™ attachment system provides easy disc change out for multi-step finishing processes
The disc is capable of: Removing paint, rust, harden adhesives, light scratches and weld burns and more.
It's great for smoothing, polishing and cleaning most metals.
Benefits of using a non-woven disc?
Non-woven discs provide a uniformed and consistent performance throughout its lifetime. They are flexible to allow the material to adapt and conform to irregular surfaces. the open construction allows for air circulation for cool operation and reduces the potential for burning.
What type of machine can you use these discs on?
The shank can be connected to can fit into power drills, angle grinders, air grinders and other power tools.
What safety requirements should I observe?
When grinding metal or sanding, appropriate personal protection equipment should be worn. Gloves, eye protection and even respiratory protection are essential PPE for general purpose grinding and polishing applications.
For safe operation of an angle grinder, be sure you have participated in appropriate training and are aware of all safety advice relevant to the material you are working on.
